RUKUS combines African and Japanese ascetic at the Blim Market

On Saturday at the Blim Market  in downtown Vancouver, RUKUS designer, Yasuhiro Tomita (toMmy), presented his Resort 2014 Women’s and Men’s collection. Blim and Keiko Boxall and a talented group of volunteers organized the event. It was a fundraiser for SORD for Rare Disease. ToMmy’s collection continues to have a connection to Africa with his selection of exotic prints but with a Japanese, minimal ascetic.

The models had unique looks and complimented the outfits. We liked the black and white geometric dresses, tops and skirts as well as the men’s pants and shorts. The menswear reminded us of sports or boxing ring clothing. We loved the green prints used for dresses and tops. They were cut to make the print the feature. toMmy also designs interesting geometric jewelry that can be found on his website and in shops around Vancouver. He is organizing a Creative Group Exhibition KIRA KIRA TOKYO with many artists and designers in Tokyo & Vancouver. We look forward to the next collection from Rukus.
